JOB SUMMARY
As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will safely lead members and participants through fun and engaging gymnastics classes.
You will provide instruction in gymnastics practices while developing participant’s confidence, skills and abilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Build collaborative relationships with participants and parents to retain class numbers.
Instruct participants on proper form and encourage growth in the sport.
Record participant progress on skills and report this to the supervisor.
Complete class recommendation forms with feedback for parents in a timely manner.
Maintain safety of both participants and equipment at all times.
Find substitute instructors as needed and provide a prepared lesson plan for them.
Take attendance on a daily basis.
Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff and children which includes:
Adhere to policies related to boundaries with staff and children.
Attend required abuse risk management training.
Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
SKILLS AND TRAINING
One year experience in gymnastics or related teaching experience required.
Knowledge of gymnastics terms and skills and the ability to break skills down to a teachable level.
Instructors must be at least 14 years of age.

Cleaning, inspecting and maintaining equipment will ensure participant safety.
Physical Requirements: Due to the instructional nature of the position, the instructor must actively lead and demonstrate skills.
This will require the significant use of hands, arms and body.
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds to set up and put away equipment and safely spot participants is required.

Be available to answer parent questions and appropriately handle complaints.
