WORKING TITLE: Assistant Teaching Professor - Psychology UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Teaching Assistant Professor POSTING DATE: March 14, 2024 START DATE: August 26, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Psychology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay seeks applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Psychology.
Candidates with a background in Forensic Psychology or related field are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will contribute to an academic unit which prioritizes teaching and fosters student success within our access mission.
This position will be responsible for enhancing UW-Green Bay's mission-driven inclusive teaching efforts and creating and maintaining an educational environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
This position includes the following responsibilities: Teach 27 credits of undergraduate courses per academic year in multiple modalities (in-person and online) including sections of Forensic Psychology and additional courses in the Psychology curriculum within the candidate's area of expertise.
Advise and mentor students Attend Psychology faculty meetings, serve on departmental curriculum committees as requested, vote on matters concerning curriculum/programming, and provide career and graduate school guidance to undergraduate students.
Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology, or closely related field, from an accredited institution or anticipated prior to start date Demonstrated potential for excellence in both online and in-person teaching and course development Commitment to undergraduate education Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues The successful candidate will be expected to work inclusively and respectfully within a diverse campus community and practice civility in the workplace.

SPECIAL NOTES: The home campus of this position is Green Bay, and the successful candidate may be required to teach an occasional course at the Marinette, Sheboygan, or Manitowoc Campus.
Position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track, Instructional Academic Staff appointment.
Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s).
A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
