WORKING TITLE: Assistant Coach - Men's Basketball UW SYSTEM OFFICIAL TITLE: Assistant Coach POSTING DATE: April 11, 2024 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position reports to the Head Men's Basketball Coach and this position assists the head coach with all aspects of running a successful Division I Men's Basketball program.
This includes organizing and administering intercollegiate sport(s) and may supervise a staff and/or have budgetary responsibility.
In this role, the selected candidate may conduct practices, identify and recruit qualified student-athletes, develop competitive schedules, coordinate team travel, and insure compliance with governing rules and regulations.
This position includes the following responsibilities: Provide technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed to improve the performance of student athletes include academics Assist with monitoring of student athlete academics Assist with planning and supervision of in-season and out-of-season practice sessions; team and individual practices Assist with scouting of opponents, recruiting and creation of meeting entry line-ups for each competition in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Horizon League and UW-Green Bay Participate in promotional and public relationship events deemed necessary to the Head Coach, Director of Athletics and/or his/her designee including fund-raising events Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with administration, faculty, staff and student-athletes and display professional sportsmanlike conduct during athletic events QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree at time of application 3 years collegiate coaching experience Working knowledge of NCAA and/or Horizon League rules and regulations Must be able to work cooperatively with others and take direction from supervisor and Director Athletics and/or his/her designee PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a higher education environment The successful candidate will be expected to work inclusively and respectfully within a diverse campus community and practice civility in the workplace.

SPECIAL NOTES: This position requires significant travel and varying schedule that includes nights and weekends.
Position is a full-time Limited appointment.
Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: SALARY INFORMATION Salary range of $55,000-$65,000.
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
BENEFIT DETAILS UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees.

The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.
In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%.
This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually.
Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
