SALARY: Coach Stipend Exempt FIRST POSTING OPEN TO ONEIDA ENROLLED TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY: POSITION SUMMARY: This position will support the Coaches Code of Conduct in working with the student athletes of the High School.
The guiding principles of the Oneida Nation School system will guide the development of athletic competition; Kahletsyalusla (the heartfelt encouragement of the best in each of us) is the foundation of our efforts to participate in extra-curricular athletics as a representative of the Oneida Nation School System and Athletic programing.

Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Qualifications and preferred experience in the coaching position applying for to promote success for the student athletes.
2.
Willingness to work in partnership with recommended support staff for the specific sport.
3.
Willingness to work with a diverse population to help continue to build and develop the athletic program.
4.
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
5.
The ability to effectively plan and organize practice schedules, follow program competition schedules, communicate with parents and athletes, and follow program expectations as outlined by the Athletic Director.
6.
The ability to work diligently with the teaching staff and athletic staff to assist all student-athletes within the program to maximizes their academic as well as athletic potential.
7.
The ability to facilitate student learning in a variety of methods, from demonstration to verbal directions.
8.
The ability to demonstrate compassion and concern for the academic, mental, and physical well-being of all student athletes.
9.
The ability to support all School based activities.
10.
Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
11.
The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.
The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: 1.
Frequently walk, stand, and sit.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
2.
A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment and annually thereafter as required.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Enforce compliance with the WIAA rules and regulations.
2.
Must have knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the sport.
Inform every athlete of the rules governing participation in the sport.
3.
Coordinate duties and responsibilities with the expectations of the school policy.
4.
Responsible for the direction, supervision, and instruction of all activities within the scope of the specific sport competition.
5.
Complete Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training within ninety (90) days of employment.
6.
Must comply with Bureau of Indian Education criminal history records check as a condition of employment to include fingerprinting.
7.
Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.

) 8.
Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
9.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must adhere to the Nation’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
10.
Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position.
A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation’s Gaming Division.
11.
A valid driver’s license or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required.
Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license or occupational driver’s license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license.
Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal and Tribal vehicle under the Oneida Nation’s Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date.
Must maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants please clearly state on the application/resume if you meet these qualifications.
1.
Teaching certification in an instructional area of Grades 9-12.
2.
Previous experience as a High School Head Coach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants please clearly state how you meet these qualifications on the application/resume.
1.
High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification; applicants age fifty (50) and older are exempt from this requirement.
