Summary:
This full-time position is a mix of both tasks and projects as time allows at Ebert Enterprises.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication
Critical thinker, troubleshoot, problem solver, results oriented and open to learning new skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision, multi-task and adapt to change
Ability to drive a truck with trailer and operate 4-wheeler required
Ability to operate seed tender truck and other equipment is preferred
Ability to navigate or willingness to learn computer programs:
John Deere Operation Center
SNAP-Plus
Various Microsoft programs
Tolerate working in an office environment as well as outside in all seasons
Driver’s license is required
Awareness of work environment to ensure safe work practices
Work Relationships:
Supervised by the Conservation Coordinator.
Works closely and maintains communication with crop manager, agronomy intern(s), cropping and seasonal team.
Duties:
Participate in the development of land and crop management plans
Create or maintain custom GIS maps
Enter and maintain accurate records or field data in equipment software
Carry out variety of support tasks
Complete scouting of fields (as time allows), looking to identify: insects, weeds, disease, fertility issues
Collect samples to identify and diagnose problems as well as use data to optimize production
Complete soil sampling or manure sampling
Understand how to use GPS technology
Carry out duties to support conservation initiatives
Practice self-management (is on-time, works at a reasonable pace, maintains internal motivation)
Communicate work-related information with appropriate farm personnel
Work as a team member to solve problems and improve work processes
Work with co-workers and landlords in a friendly and professional manner
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Full-time hours Monday through Friday, some weekends during peak seasonal periods required.
