POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Associate will provide accurate, timely, and accessible financial information that will help the SP team make well-informed financial decisions and optimize resources to achieve the Company’s mission.
This position will own key accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, audits, and monthly close procedures.
Reconciles accounts, prepares, and posts journal entries, and has in-depth knowledge of Quickbooks and production operating system.
Demonstrates and promotes the Company Values.
Ensures complete confidentiality in all aspects of work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Accounts Payable • Set-up and maintain vendors in the accounting system.
• Code vendor invoices as necessary to properly record vendor activities in the general ledger.
• Manage payment of vendors to take advantage of available discounts.
• Process weekly accounts payable checks and on-time accounts payable checks as needed.
• Manage purchase order accruals.
Accounts Receivable • Gather, analyze, and summarize production and other data to support customer billings.
• Prepare customer invoices in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reconcile and identify discrepancies arising from accounts or customer analyses or customer inquiries.
• Resolve data discrepancies through analysis, communication, and discussion with internal and customer personnel.
• Prepare and update documentation of billing methodologies and processes.
• Process cash receipts.
Payroll • Ensure Federal, State, County, and Company laws and guidelines applicable to payroll are consistently met.
• Administer all child support and garnishment payments to appropriate parties.
• Enter and balance appropriate benefit deductions on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.
• Coordinate with Human Resources in hiring and termination process.
• Compile and update various weekly and monthly internal payroll reports and analyses.
Other • Assist with monthly financial closing including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform monthly sales reconciliation.
• Review monthly production reports to ensure accurate reporting.
• Respond timely to inquiries from vendors, customers, or employees and research and resolve concerns and discrepancies.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: associate degree in accounting or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and related 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Above average experience in MS-Word and MS-Excel or computer proficiency is required.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.
