This Senior Tax Analyst role with Associated Bank is responsible for preparing the monthly tax provision, maintaining deferred tax inventories, and preparing the quarterly and year end information for external auditors.
Responsible for the preparation, payment and management of the organization's tax filings and payments.
Assist with audit and tax planning issues.
Responsible for keeping up to date with the tax software used to prepare the tax returns.
This person will: Prepare or review the monthly tax provision.
Prepare or review the quarterly and year end tax packets for external auditors.
Respond to inquires regarding corporate and business unit tax issues.
Preparation of select income and franchise tax filings which includes tax payment packets to support quarterly income tax estimates, tax work papers to support the information on tax returns filed and timely filing of the income and franchise tax returns.
Prepare or review quarterly tax general ledger account reconciliations.
Maintain and keep support for the deferred tax inventory.
Review new general ledger accounts for proper tax treatment and insure proper mapping to the tax software.
Develop and implement department procedure improvements.
Keep informed of tax laws, regulations, and rulings pertaining to federal and state income and franchise taxes by reading external publications to insure that tax worksheets and procedures comply with the law, regulations or rulings.
Prepare and maintain support for the tax footnote in the 10K.
Evaluate and keep current with the software used to prepare the income and franchise tax returns.
Various tax returns are filed electronically.
Responsible for inputting and attaching all information in the tax software so that the returns can be electronically filed timely and properly.
Collaborate with the accounting department on the tax effect of purchase accounting items on new acquisitions.
Participate in acquisition tax filings and other special projects.
Collaborate with the internal and external auditors, federal examiners, IRS auditors, and state revenue department auditors during examination or reviews.
Collaborate with the Community Development Group on tax credit structures.
Collaborate with the Equipment Finance team on the tax implications of certain transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Required Experience 3-5 years experience in tax accounting.
Required 5-7 years experience in accounting.
