*Job Summary*
Estimators must provide efficient and accurate project estimates for exterior and interior construction work (more specifically defined as acoustical ceiling, acoustical wall panels, operable partitions, exterior cold formed metal framing, interior metal stud framing/drywall, and other miscellaneous interior finish projects).
*Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities*
· Review all bid opportunities and research conditions, requirements, and customer expectations to ensure that each opportunity is right for the company and our values.
· Review project documents, specifications, addenda, and front-end scope documents to fully understand bid requirements.
· Complete a quantity survey (takeoff) for all necessary scope items using On Center “OST” estimating software.
· Create bid conditions addressing material, labor, equipment and subcontractor functions to create a complete estimate using On Center “Quick Bid” software.
· Review and determine project schedule dates in order to apply correct labor rates and possible escalators.
· Determine material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements in order to solicit specific pricing for each project.
· Send out requests for information to gain clarification on any conflicts / discrepancies noted during the bidding process.
Send out RFI’s to the customer (written or verbal) to attempt to get direction prior to the bid submittal.
· Create and submit a professional bid proposal for projects with clear definition of alternates, value engineering, inclusions and exclusions.
· Present project estimate to Estimating Manager for final review of accuracy, productions, and proposal conditions prior to transmitting to customer.
· Maintain constant contact with vendors and subcontractors to determine market trends, new products, future opportunities, and market conditions.
· Pass along all project information after bid is complete to preconstruction coordinator with specific information related to the bid amount and OH&P margin.
· Participate in weekly preconstruction meetings to discuss new opportunities and the status of pending bids.
· Follow up with customers as necessary to get bid results and to determine the status of each project as assigned in each meeting.
· Other duties as directed by Manager/Team members and the needs of the department.
*Education/Qualifications/Requirements*
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or similar experience preferred
· Commercial construction experience is preferred specifically in acoustical ceilings, metal framing and drywall, or carpentry applications.
· High attention to detail and problem-solving skills with speed in day to day work.
· The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
· Excellent computer skills and experience in the On Center (OST/Qbid) estimating software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.
